PPS Documents

Can anyone tell me anything about PPS documents? I receive many of them in my emails and when I try to open them it says there is no program to open them with. I have Windows XP Home installed on my computer - my sis says I need to get Windows XP Office with power points. ?? Do I need to buy new hardware just to open emails?

PPS file may be power point show files.  You need a piece of software to view them.  Microsoft has a free Power Point Viewer which should let you view the files.

Thank you so much for your quick response.
The fellow in the column below gave me the link to go, to download PPS - BUT - I went there and it said it was a download for everyhting up to Windows 2002,. Well I have Windows XP Home edition 2003 and so I don't know whether that is the right download. I searched further and found another for XP 2003, BUT,  it said something to the fact that it needed to have OFFICE XP and I have the HOME edition.
So, my question is - do I have to have Windows XP Office installed and if so can I install it over the Home edition? Are they compatible or am I just going to wreck one or
both of them?

The Power Point viewer that Denny pointed you to will work under Windows XP.  If all you want to do is view Power Point files it will work.  If you want to edit or create Power Point files then you will need to purchase and install Microsoft Office.  Any version will work and it doesn't matter which version of Windows XP you have, they all run under Windows XP Home or Pro.
