The print jobs may be logged in Event Viewer in XP. Not sure what category they will be in.

You are welcome, that feature was enabled by default in the NT and server 2000 software, not sure if it was carried forward in XP, Looks like No.

This link suggests it is still there in XP, but yours may be turned off in the registry.

I have done this but I also have printed several doc's and they do not show in event viewer.I have also gone into printer properties and checked the ony thing that was not checked which was (keep printed docs) thinking this would make a printlog file or something but so far am unable to locate one.It did add two folders in spooler\printer but the sizes are wrong. When I opened them they were goobldy guck.Did a search of my computer tho try seeing where else the files may be but no luck. Will probably check out the utility you steered me to.Thanks again

Another reason is by default XP is set to overwrite the event viewer logs, this can be changed by doing a properties on Application, Security, System  and tick the radio button "Do not overwrite events (clear log manually) and hit OK, do it for each one. You can also increase the max size of the log, which is suggest to at least double the size.
