Problem activating norton

We bought Norton Internet Security 2004 with my Dimenson 8400 a couple of months ago. Since then the trial period has expired but when I attempt to activate the product, I get a message telling me I have attempted to activate the product too many times.

We paid over £60 for 16 months cover and have since been attacked by a number of trojan horses which have damaged my internet connection and caused trouble with AOL because I don't have a suitable virus scan/security system.

I don't want information on other security software - I have paid for Norton and I would like this problem sorted as soon as possible. Is there some kind of code you can use to bypass it?

Thanks

Can you run the Live Update option via Norton?

You might need to uninstall Norton Internet Sec and reinstall (assuming that you have the software application CD that was shipped with the PC).  Once you have it reinstalled, click on Live Update and re-register.

i don't think you can activate a trial program after the trial is over.
i think you have to uninstall the trial program and get a new exe file to install it.
you said you paid "£60 for 16 months cover".
you don't pay for trialware (not as far as i know).

We were sold Norton with our dell computer, it wasn't a trial programme, it had 15 days trial and then you had to activate it when it ran out. But no luck.

The problem with that is, I have a LOT of information on my hard drive (I make music) so it would be very impractical to back it all up unless there was another way.
