I also downloaded a Dell Critical update about 2 weeks ago, and had similar issues.
I had to do a system restore to remove the update.
Now,i get another message from Dell with another Critical update which i don't want to download
because of the previous issues with a Critical Update.    What gives??
I'm also out of warranty.

Did you print out the instructions to installing this D/L after you did it? Sounds like you did the D/L just fine but have not installed it by running the setup program. Go to the dell folder and select the install or setup location of the D/L. Better yet, go back to where you did the D/L and print the instructions. But if you don't want to do this simply remove it from the start-up files in programs\startup or run msconfig and un-check it from startup.

Most of that is Dell bloatware and offers no more than what you can do for yourself.  Too bloated... too many issues.....  and unecessary.

Although good in theory, it simply causes too many issues for too many people. You can easily obtain driver updates on your own without it.

Just my opinion... and we all know what opinions are worth....:smileyvery-happy:

OK, I am an idiot.  Immediately after I posted my message I noticed a message by the admin titled:

I  like to hear what some of the Guru's here have to say about this before i do anything.
It does appear to be a system hog and i have to weigh the value to it now.

Do a system restore to before you installed the update. That should solve things.

As in  a earlier post,i did a system restore to bring my machine back into operation after i allowed the download.  That was the only fix at the time.
