Just run msconfig, go the boot.ini tab and check all boot paths and you'll be able to delete the invalid boot path.

Hi Mary
thanks, here is what the BOOT.INF tab says. Note that partion (1) showed up as highlited in system config.

partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition"/nonexecute=optin/fastdetect

partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition"/nonexecute=optin/fastdetect

The one I think is the new one is partion(1). The old one with the broken link is (2).

Would it be safe to assume that I can deleate the one with partion (2)????
How do I deleat (2)??

Another thing is when I did the format I set it up with one partion only. I deleated all the other ones befor I started. I am puzzeled and dont know how this happend.

Thank you for your help in advance!
