Problem installing Trust Wave Embassy Security Center

PC: Latitude D620
OS: Windows VISTA

I have tried installing The Trust Wave installer several times and I keep getting the following error:

---------------------------
Wave Installer
---------------------------
The Wave Installer could not upgrade the prerequisite ETS Upgrade.
Reason: Unknown Error.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
I have removed everything Trust Wave related and I have tried to reinstall it. Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks,
Robert

Same problem here too.  Also looking for a solution.  It was working fine with the older version until all the sudden it stopped. (possibly affected by a windows update?)  Tried to install the newer version now available for download, and I get the same problem.  I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, and posting if I find an answer...

Check this note by Microsoft Support,

I use to have problems installing ETS on my D630 under WinXP SP3

It was due to Windows Installer.

Hope it helps...

Ive been having problems with my biometric reader too, and decided to uninstall and reinstall the wave embassy suite. When I went to reinstall I now get prerequisite wave infrastructure error.

I have tried,

  • clearing, disabling TPM and then re-enabling.
  • Removing registrations of embassy in the system reg.
  • Safe mode..
  • Running as Admin.

All produce the same error. [:'(]

Any other suggestions would be grateful (short of an re installation of Vista)

The fix suggested in a previous post WORKED FOR ME.  Specifically, this msft article:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315353

In a command prompt, run the following -

msiexec.exe /unregister

msiexec /regserver

Installer now runs.  Thanks!
