Problem running XP on XPS M1330
My laptop comes with Vista and i had no option to put XP on it. but i am an engineer and my programs do not run on Vista. I format my hard and install XP on it. first i needed to change SATA settings on bios for xp to detect my hard dervies. second, now that i have installed XP nothing is working properly. my sound card, is not installed and i can not hypernate or put laptop in sleep mode. this is while i have installed the 14 recomanded drives from dell site.
Does this laptop supports XP? if so what shall i do to operate it?

The correct order is:
XP
Laptop System Software (if any)
Chipset driver
Video driver
Audio driver
Network driver
etc.

Just a thought. You could try installing XP on a virtual PC.
Virtual PC is free.

Better Get a copy while you still can.

XP has a compatibility mode that lets you run things as old as Win95 software.
