It's hard to help without knowing which model comptuer you have and which wireless network device you have. If you can provide that information, perhaps someone can help.
I've never had to uninstall before installing the new drivers and ulitility, but then I've never had the problem that you are having. Try uninstalling through Add/Remove programs, then try installing again.

i downloaded it from site, now there is a blank blue screen with
DELL WIRELESS WLAN CARD SETUP...should it be this way. i tried shutting down, and wont let me
