Problem with Ghost since uprading to XP SP2
I last did an image backup from my Inspiron 1100 to my desktop machine on 10/4 using Ghost 2003. I have been doing this fairly regularly every month or so for the past year. There were a few hiccups initially finding and installing the Broadcom 440 driver, but it worked flawlessly after that, until...
On 10/16 I applied the SP2 update to my Win XP Pro desktop OS, and to the XP Home edition on the laptop.
I tried to Ghost the Inspiron drive this morning, and I'm getting all kinds of errors, starting with a timeout on the DHCP server. BTW, at this point, the system fan comes on at full speed.
The first messages are:
NTS$NTST2: NTS0108: IP address cannot be obtained
NTS$NTST2: NTS0110:
Notify network administrator, correct the problem, and reload
NET5733: The protocol manager has reported an incomplete binding.
NET HELPMSG 5733 gives the following super-helpful explanation:
Replication of the *** Policy Object "***" from primary domain controller
*** failed with the following error:
***
*** failed with the following error:
***
All very helpful, I'm sure. Does anyone have a clue what this means?

I updated Live Update today and then ran it twice, but there were no updates to Ghost. There were updates to LiveReg and WMI, but I don't know why they would make a difference. Haven't retried, as I spent the next two hours trying to get Ghost 2005 to recognize my LiteOn DVD-RW drive. After corrupting a disc, it then decided there was no media present.
Fortunately, I have Nero 6 Ultra, who DOES recognize the LiteOn drive, so I was able to do a full data backup from both machines.

I run Ghost 2003 in peer-to-peer mode between my iXPS (with BCM57x) and my emachines desktop (with Netgear GA311) with no problems. Both are running XP Pro SP2. I can use DHCP through the router or static addresses through a cross-over cable. The only thing I can think of is the NDIS2 driver is not set up properly. In your Ghost template properties are you using the correct driver name with $ at the end? If you did not get your driver from Broadcom, here is their link:
