Hi Exo,
I have about the same problem as you. Only difference is when i am opening a certain program-icon
I get warning message I am missing a swflash.ocx file. Which I found out is a kind of ActiveX control. I also got this after having installes SP2 on my pc-system. I wanted to ctct Dell but
they were closed on the weekend; but i did sent them an email about this/these problem/s.
Otherwise i will contact them monday. So to inform you not to worry that much as you are not
the only one having problems after having installed SP2;  even my brother has the same problem
as i have.

Success.
Kind regards,
Gant.

The ocx file would be part of flash and/or shockwave. I would remove any of these Macromedia applications, reboot and then reinstall them. Get latest versions at http://macromedia.com/

As far as activex, if you don't mind it on your system put the site into your Trusted Sites column. The default should allow activex.

That format is apparently a high-risk one. I'm sure SP2 will let you do what you want even if it is risky to your overall security. Highlite the Trusted Sites button and select Custom. You *should* be able to run activex without the popup; if the popup does still come up I think you can click on it and set it straight.

If you've customized the Trusted Sites zone with the site already added, closed IE and re-launched it without being able to load the page I can only suggest some setting in the Advanced column might do it. I get the Info Bar but I always did get a message when a site was attempting to run activex on my system. Give me a site you're trying to get in and I'll see if I can get it to load.

If you enable all the custom settings in the Trusted Sites zones and allow all scripting boxes and allow sites to use "Restricted Protocols for Active Content" you may have full use of this page. Course if you willing to forego all security concerns there was no reason for you to install SP2. I wouldn't lower my defences to this degree for wallpaper and I suggest you don't either. Sorry.

The page loads for me with the Information Bar.

well your right theres no point in doing that for the stupid information bar not to appear but not being able to view .png files is a problem

well today I just got sick of not being able to view .PNG files and all the activeX things and seeing that the stupid SP2 really gave me no more security then I already had and was just causing me all sorts of stupid problems with IE I uninstalled it and POOF all the little problems went away and I dont intend to download it again untill microsoft gets it right so I would just like to thank all the people that tryed helping me. For the people who are having the same problems and dont mind uninstalling it and going back to SP1 do the following : 1.) Create a restore point incase anything goes wrong (if your like me and leave it off then you can just disable the system restore feature after everything worked out) 2.) Put your Windows XP install disc in the CD drive 3.) Turn off computer 4.) set your computer to boot from the CD drive first 5.) then once the XP disc loads select hit enter then once you get to the next set of options hit R for repair (thats Enter first, then R) it might have to restart after some  maintenance then repeat step 5 and it will start copying files and will restart again. From there it should look like your installing a fresh copy of XP but your not, your just simply repairing the one you got.  Now for the profiles I only have one on my computer because I personly think multiple logins are stupid so if your like me and only have one, for the first profile, name it exactly the same as the one you currently have and then you should be set and remember to install the SP1 updates from microsoft if there is any just make sure not install SP2 again. If you have more then one login Im guessing you would have to input all the logins exactly the same as they are now.  This is what I did and it worked like a charm.

You might be able to use Mozilla for PNG files. There is an 'option box' in Mozilla's preferences that tells Windows to let Mozilla open these files. Don't know if SP2 would allow it. Thought I'd pass that along.
