Yeah I did all of that. At first I didn't notice until I was testing it. It kinda still had a connection but it was not considered very good. It only on the older Dell pcs it mattered. They are about 1 - 1 1/2 yr old.

You didn't mention which network card you have, but if it's the 3COM 905C TX compatible, you need the latest driver update. There were two of them, and I don't remember the file name, but they (Dell)only have the latest one posted anyway.

On one of them has the CNET Pro200WL Ethernet Adapter.  I just checked the download section and it only has the HTML manual and the Diag ultility.

This is starting to get annoying now. I uninstalled and reinstalled service pack 2 like 4 times already. My two computers remaining are dells only. So far all the tip and tricks did not work. I guess i have to resort to calling dell and dealing with the tech support. It takes forever to go thru all their intial steps and they make me go thru them again. Wonderful hours and hours of happy fun.

I would try the free Microsoft support for SP2 before going to Dell. They have a toll-free phone number as well.......which is 888-SP2-HELP........or 888-772-4357

I had a problem with my network recently after making a software change, and tried every possible scenerio to get it working again. Turns out one of the ethernet cards (netgear nic) was somehow affected by this change. I re-installed the drivers for that one card, and everything was back to normal. From what I could figure out, it wasn't releasing and renewing it's IP/Subnet address after the change.

Just a thought....

Great, got off with microsoft. The tech i got did everything in the computer and nutting worked. He going to refer my case to a specialist. So far I was able to solve the problems on the other machines. Only one left are the two Dells that have this problem.
