Problem with system restore

Question

I can't restore my system to more than a few days back. I have all the restore points expected, except for the 25th of Feb. When I tried to restore back to the 21st it told me that the restoration was incomplete and that no changes were made. I was able to restore to the 26th, and then to the 24th (past the missing restore point) and then to the 23rd, but no farther. I tried longer periods, such as last month, but no go. When I try to restore to the points that don't work, the operation takes approximately 15 minutes, which seems too long. I haven't had reason to use this function in quite some time, but have been having lots of trouble with the whole system since I started working with TIFF files in Photoshop 6 about a few weeks ago. Also, after one of my otherwise successful restore operations, I couldn't open my scanner software. I have an EPSON Perfection 2450 with TWAIN 5; the program that wouldn't open is called Smart Panel. I got a file opening error message that read Script file C: \Program files\Epson\Smart Panel Data\Data\SmaPanel\SmaPanel.lao,[LAYOUT] mistake. Message Edited by Photog1 on 02-29-2004 09:59 AM
