As far as I know, Dell does not officially support 64-bit Vista. If you choose to install 64-bit on your own, you will have to go to the manufacturer's website for each piece of hardware you have and see if they have something.

OK dell not support vista 64. BUT WHY they are seeling laptops with intel procesor that work's on 64bit?if they don't support vista 64:) and why I buy 4G ram if I can't u it :) because vista 32-bites see only 3
WHY THEY ARE SEELING THIS KIND OF LAPTOPS if they don't have the right drivers?

And so is HP, ACER, Gateway etc. 64 bit processors have been around for a few years. It is only with the release of Vista.. Which everybody hates.... that has spurned the urge to switch to 64 bit. XP has been out since the release.
With the falling prices of CPU's and ram the major mfrs are putting this into their systems. The public is more or less driving this. 2 gigs was the norm when i bought my system 2yrs ago. now 4 gigs is the norm.

Hi
The questions you have asked has been gone over over and over
again here !!
You bought the 4 gig,s of ram because you asked for it !!!
Dell will sale 4 gig,s weather its for Vista\Xp 32 bit or 64 bit !!
You got what you paid for !
You can find 64 bit drivers if you look hard enough check the drivers for all
laptops not just yours !!
And check the 32 bit drivers it may have the 64 bit driver with it !
A 32 bit windows be it XP or Vista can only use about 3.5 of 4 gig,s .
Good Luck
