problems running older software...

Question

I have Dell Dimension 4500 and Win XP Home; also QuckBooks (1999) and an older Wordperfect.   They used to run fine on my XP machine.   Today I get the message:   16 Bit Windows SubSystem C:\windows\system32\AUTOEXEC.NT.  The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.   Am I missing a file..?   I have already set the compatibility properties of the programs concerned to run as Win 95. I have checked MSCONFIG file and all looks fine there.   Other software runs ok.   Chris P

Here is a fix for it   Scroll down to XP Fix.exe. Download it, run it and restart your computer. http://www.visualtour.com/downloads
