problems seeing attachments on Outlook Express

I have problems seeing some attachments on Outlook Express, and there doesn't seem to be a problem. I can't see attachments from two AOL users, but I can see attachments from another AOL user. I can't see some attachments with an .emi extension, but I can see others. (These aren't the only types of attachments I have trouble with.)

In the past, I went to Tools/Options/Security and unchecked the statement about not allowing atachments that may contain a virus, but that didn't solve the problem.

I'd appreciate some help.

Muffin1,

Thanks for using the Dell Community Forum.

Can you tell us if the two AOL users are sending the same attachments as the one AOL user who's attachments you can't see.  Can you tell us specifically what attachments you do have problems with?

Thanks for getting back to me. I was away on vacation and just got back.

The attachments I'm talking about are the jokes and stuff that everybody sends each other. There isn't any duplication in the attachments. I have noticed that I can't see ones with an .eml extension if there is a "Fwd...Fw" in the title. I can see those with only one Fw in the title.

There's nothing wrong with your computer but rather, wrong with the way the recipients are sending you the messages.  Bottom line is, the messages have been repeatedly forwarded and to view them, you must continue to "open" them until you ultimately arrive at the original message...an activity that I find too tedious to abide.

FWIW, if the emails were copy/pasted, the above would be unnecessary and would be immediately viewable.

Many thanks!

This has been making me crazy for some time.

And thanks also for telling me how it should be done.
