Here's how to find the the support home page for your system. Click Desktops above, then enter your service tag number. The drop-down list will allow you to access downloads, including your drivers, your manual and other information. Bookmark this page so you can access it any time

Find your service tag. On the side of the computer for deskptops and on the bottom for notebooks.

Go here , then type your Service Tag, then click Go for Drivers & Downloads.

If you don't know your Service Tag, downloads for Dimension 8250 can be found here . This is the same link that Dave5 gave you.

From the 8250 page, you need to download and install the CHIPSET driver and the network drivers (likely the Intel drivers).  http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=DIM_PNT_P4_8250&os=WW1&osl=EN#

Picking up on something you said above, if you're putting your boot drive in another machine and downloading the drivers to it, that will NOT work.  The drivers can be downloaded to anything, but must be installed on the boot drive of the machine with the boot drive IN the machine.

PS i install the drivers on the COMPUTERS hardrive.:)

You can download the files and copy them to the PC you need them on.  You cannot INSTALL the files on another PC, they must be installed (i.e. open the download) on the boot drive of the machine with the problems.
