Problems with Flash

Recently I review an active x software management tool.  I apparently deleted my flash plugin and player.  When I go to the Adobe download site and download Flash ver 9 I can't get the player to work.  I've been on numerous site for this problem and it appears alot of people are having problem with their Flash player.

does anyone have any suggestions as to what I need to do to get Flash to work in my XPS 1730 Vista Ulimate system?

There is a separate uninstaller program for the Adobe Flash.  Download the uninstaller and run that, restart the PC and then you should be able to download and install the latest flash player.   I recently had problems with a customer's PC and using the uninstaller allowed downloading and installing of the flash player.

The uninstaller is listed on the download page HERE

Thanks for your input.  I've tried that and a number of other things and have had no luck installing Flash.

Does the flash uninstall when you run the uninstaller?  Make sure you run that as Administrator (right click on the file and then select Run as Administrator).  Sometimes that makes a difference, even if you have Administrator rights.  Also, don't forget to restart after you have it uninstalled.

I had a lot of problems with a customer's Vista machine (an HP) and finally after finding the uninstaller and running it (and restarting the PC) I was finally able to get Shockwave installed.

Goodmorning Fire,

I tried your suggestion and still can't get Flash 9 to install.  This is unbelievable that some simple download can't be accomplished and I believe I know the culprit.  It's Vista which is worse then Win98.  Wonder if I can downgrade from Dell and install XP?

I have a XPS 1730 with a T9500 chip, 4 mb Ram using IE 7.  I've tried running the uninstall from Adobe with Administrator rights, rebooted and then downloaded Flash 9 and it will not load.  It goes through the motions of downloading but nothing works.

I don't have a clue as to what to do next!  Anyone, please help!
