Problems with installing Windows 7 on Netbook via USB
I have a dell mini 1012 and want to do a complete new install.
I set up a bootable usb device with the Win7-usb-dvd-tool and the win7 iso file from msdn.
I booted from usb and got in the windows setup menu. I deleted all partitions, create 2 new ones and formatted them.
When I try to install I get the following message:
"Setup couldn't create a new system partition or couldn't find an existing." There's a hint to look for the installer log, but I couldn't find it.
I tried the follwing:
1) Deleting the partition
2) Deleting the partition and reformating with NTFS
3) Deleting the partition from PartedMagic, watching for a hidden partition
Nothing helped. I'm always get stucked with the same error.
So, what can I do? Any suggestions? Are there some files or partition informations left which I also have to delete?

I have a Netbook that came with Win 7 Starter Edition. Based on it's limited hardware I wouldn't think of installing anything except the Starter Edition. It has the Recovery Partition to reinstall if I ever need it, plus I have a complete hard drive back up (all partitions) using Acronis True Image to an external hard drive.
But, the drive does need to be formatted with NTFS, and make sure the BIOS is detecting the hard drive properly. If it's not being detected in the BIOS or not shown properly then Windows or an install will not find it.
I tried to update the Netbook with Win 7, SP1 using an iso of the SP1 update. It had worked OK on a full size Laptop with Win 7 64 bit Home Premium but the Netbook had problems and I had to use the Microsoft updates to install the SP1 update on the Netbook.

The drive is detected properly and formatted with NTFS.
I had Windows 7 on my netbook until SP1 came out. I wanted to install it via Microsoft Update but my system partition was to small (20GB for OS, 2 GB free)
So I decided to a new clean install and deleted all partitions. I tried to install via USB with Win7 iso without SP1 and Win7 iso with integrated SP1.
With both I get the same error as stated above. So it can't be because of SP1.
