problems with ipconfig

Question

First of all, I receive a dynamic IP and I can give a static IP, too. But I have to open the network settings to see details for my network because ipconfig fails for some reason, I only get an error message (the message may differ, I use german windows):   >ipconfig Internal error: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service. Additional information: unknown mediacode   As previously stated my network works fine, except that I can't check, release, renew and so on via the ipconfig command. Is there any possibility to get that working (again?)? I found several pages listing the errorcode, but none providing a solution. Check this registry key

Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup
3. Click the LogLevel value in the right pane.
4. Type 0 in the Value data field, and then click OK.
5. Restart the computer.

I checked the registry and already had 0 filled in (0x00000000 hexadecimal), changed the value to 1, back to 0 and restarted.. same problem, alas!   Any other ideas maybe?
