Problems with shut down, freezing, errors. WINME the problem?
Sorry about that non-message! That's how frustrated I am with this computer!
It's a Dell Dimension 8100. I believe it is a 2000.
It's very slow moving, freezes up etc. It mostly freezes when I use Turbo Lister(an ebay program). It seems to me though like there is a program running in the background, and I cannot figure out how I would even find it.
I had heard that Windows ME is the worse one out there. Would this be causing any problems, and does it make sense to install Windows XP instead? I am trying to avoid having to call Dell, but I don't know if this is anything that anyone can help me with on here!
I am thinking I should uninstall/reinstall the problem programs first?

Since the problem seems to be just associated with Ebay software you could probably suspect some spy/malware running in the background. If you don't have Spybot and/or AdAware, i strongly suggest you get them and run them.

If you try their suggestions and you still have a problem with it, do like I did and start shutting down programs to see if it's one of them. I was having trouble on E-Bay listing pictures. When I tried to up-load the pictures, an error came up with something like "Not able to complete task". I shut down programs, and refreshed the page until I found the problem. It was my Adsubtract program. So from then on when I did my pictures, I would shut down Adsubtract, and it works just fine. I hope you can get it fixed,
