I scan daily with AVG. Dell Inspiron E1705 with XP and I know for a fact I have a virus on this thing. It has locked me out of all admin functions. Control Panel, Task Manager, even setting the time and date. I'd like to fix it without having to reformat and all that jazz, but it's looking less likely.

I just saw your HJT log. It is showing multiple infections, and those are only the ones we can see. There are more surprises in store for you if and when you find out what is hiding. Just one of the infections you have is a downloader trojan. This trojan replaces legitimate files that are common on most computers with an infected file. It then moves the legitimate file to a backup folder. Your system will take several days (weeks?) to clean, and we cannot promise that we will be able to fix all the changes that have already been made to your system. If it were my computer I would reformat/reinstall the operating system. I'd also quit using BitTorrent and all types of P2P.
If you do decide to reformat, please reply in your topic on the HijackThis Board and let us know before an analyst spends many hours researching and preparing an initial reply. Thanks.
