Don't bother with system file checker or repair reinstall. Gdiplus.dll is not a Windows system file. The latest version of the file belongs to either Works Suite 2005 Standard Edition or Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. See the links on
this page.
You can download the 5.1.3102.1360 version of the file from
here.
Okay. I downloaded a copy of gdiplus.dll but an not sure where to put it. I copied one into frameworks folder. But when I run media player 10 it still gives me an error the gdiplus.dll is not found.
I'm not sure where it should go, either. I have three copies (different versions) on my system but all three are in the C:\Windows\SxS folder.
Additional searching indicates that possibly the information
here can get the file located where all the various applications that need it will look for it. (I have never been prompted for the file when using Windows Media Player.)
I was finally able to remove windows antispyware software and re-installed it. But still get an error "microsoft windows antispyware has encountered a critical error (error 101)"

Denny,
Still no success after installing windows installer 3.1. Also when I try to run mediaplayerb 10.0 I keep getting error that "gdiplus.dll" not found.
Tried to reinstall mediaplayer 10 but still no luck.
