Programmes not showing in Start menu

I've had to reinstall Windows 10 on my Dell XPS 15 today - see thread here for the issues that led to this step:http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/20018496

I did the install via the recovery tool System Refresh thing and I'm now just about up and running again however it's definitely not quite the same Windows setup I had before - for one thing, I have never had Cortana up to now.

Anyway, ignoring that I am having an issue with the Start menu, namely no new programmes are showing up on it post-installation. I've Googled it and while a lot of people are mentioning it (mostly in 2015 it seems), I can't seem to find a solution.

Has anyone encountered this and can you suggest how to fix please?

Many thanks.

What particular programs you are preferring to ? If it's Dell:

Please enter your service tag number(or click Detect Product) onto the link. After, you should see the system drivers, Applications, Firmware and downloads.

Drivers & Downloads | Dell US

If it's Microsoft Apps and programs:

Installing drivers( Apps &  programs) though windows update: Type Settings onto [Cortana] search box, Update & Security, and then select Check For Updates. Please don't wait later to install latest updates, click Restart Now. Do the process over and over until you have the latest windows updates. The latest is Windows 10 Creator Fall update.

Get the Windows 10 Creators Update - support.microsoft.com

If you need addition Apps:

Type Window Store onto the [Cortana} search box. In the Store, select Apps or Games. On the apps or games page, find Top Free Apps or Top Free Games and select Show all at the other end of the row.

Thanks for the advice LSUFAN51. The Windows 10 Creator Fall Update has now installed and thankfully the start menu and Cortana appear to be working properly now.

Hopefully that'll be me fixed now - thanks again for your replies here and on the original thread.
