There was a comment made in a post on the Spyware forum about not being able to install Norton Internet Security  on another computer. In my case the version is 2004, and I will be getting a new computer and will most likely not going online with my old computer, except to update certain programs.
I do have the product key for the Norton product. Your thoughts and advice appreciated.

As your license agreement states, your copy of NIS is for one computer.  They key is required to activate the product.  If you intend on moving the product, then you will most likely need to contact Symantec to determine how.

You can uninstall it from the old PC (and make sure you uninstall it) then do the install on the new PC.

I did that between the two PC's I have, once it was "activated" on the other PC, the original expiration date came up on the newly installed PC.  If you install it on a new PC, initially it will show the subscription expires 1 year from the date it was installed but as noted, once you activate it with Norton and run Live Update it will show the original subscription expiration date.   You won't get an additional year subscription.
