Question about upgrading to Windows 7 Professional
Greeting,
I purchased a laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium about 30 days ago. I want to upgrade it to Professional. I know I can upgrade using Windows Anytime Upgrade, but I would like to have a copy of the disc so I can reinstall OS easier when I upgrade my harddrive to larger size. Can Dell ship me a Windows 7 Professional disc if I show proof that I purchase the upgrade? If not, is the upgrade key I get from Microsoft going to work next time when I reinstall OS?

1. No, you got a discount when purchasing the upgrade as opposed to the full version.
2. Yes if installed on the same Laptop
Use software like this to make a full disk image of the hard drive prior to hard drive upgrade, the image can be restored to a new drive, then swap drives out, done.
