Quick Launch Toolbar

I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop running Windows XP Pro. My system recently aquired BlazeFind spyware/adware and I removed it using SpyBot. What alerted me to the fact that I had a problem was my Quick Launch Toolbar. It quit loading automatically. When I loaded it manually I could not arrange the icons, they stayed in a present order.

After removal of BlazeFind this problem continued. I am making the assumption that BlazeFind was responsible for changing some system settings that have caused this. Before the aquisition of the BlazeFind spyware my Quick Launch Toolbar would automatically load to full length and the icons would be in the order I had previously arranged them.

I have done quite a bit of research on help sites and tried some registry fixes with no luck. I have tried locking and unlocking the toolbars without any success. I have searched MS knowledge base without being able to find anything specifically related to this problem (although I admit with several thousand 'hits' I may have missed it).

Does anybody have any idea how to reset or where to find the reset parameters that control the Quick Launch Toolbar? I've even tried WinBoost but I can't find anything there that sets or resets the Toolbars.

Maybe...right click on the drive icon, properties, tools tab. Click check now. On the box that opens, check both boxes (if you don't want to scan for bad sectors, you can leave the second box unchecked), click OK. The message tells you it can't do it now, do you want it to do on restart?, click yes

Thanks for your speedy answer Shootre. I gave it a try and although it cleared up a few other problems it didn't address the Quick Launch Toolbar problem I'm having. I'll have to keep searching for a solution, although it isn't critical - it's just one of those things you hate.... when someone, via unwanted software, messes up you system configuration when you've finally got things the way you like them..... makes my blood boil. :O(
