Quicktime Player and Vista?

As some of you may know, Apple is now posting a download of Itunes which promises to be compatible with Windows Vista.  The odd thing is, the Quicktime Player is included in this download and Quicktime continues to be unsupported in Windows Vista.  This seems to be a bit of a conflict.

Has anyone heard when Apple is projecting a release of Quicktime that is compatible with Vista?  I know the player might work "better" with Vista than it did a couple of months ago.  However,  the last time I tried Quicktime (a couple of months ago - well after the release of Vista), the player caused my video to freeze up constantly.

I will not put Quicktime back on my WIn Vista OS until a compatible player is released.  I'm just curious to know when that might be.  I know it's not exactly Apple's priority since they've got their own OS but still I wonder........

mombodog,
Thanks for the reply.  Yep, I noticed they wanted feedback on their latest version of Quicktime on Vista.  However, I've now got Vista running smoothly and don't want to be Apple's guinea pig for a Vista experiment.

I might check out Quicktime Alternative.  I've been getting by pretty good using Windows Media Player but I do have several videos that require Quicktime.
