I doubt that the star count will match the actual number of characters in your key. Other than that I can't help. I have not had your problem. Can you switch to WPA? It's far superior, often simpler, and might not cause a problem. I just use a simple, easy to remember, 8 number pass key. The chances of my getting cracked are infinitesimal.

Unfortunateley Im only limited to the WEP on this router. Im not too worried about hackers, just my neighbors using my internet.

You could switch to MAC address filtering, I assume. It's effective enough for most people. You could try changing your WEP password. Don't ask me why. But, when I am stumped, I generally try doing some ought-to-be harmless things.

Hey Znod

Ive tried that and about everything else I could think of. I even reloaded Vista, then disabled the WEP and connected to the internet just fine. I even did a windows update to see if there happend to be a fix. I got real excited too because there was a new driver for my wireless card, but..... It still didnt work.

Oh well. Its not that important to me right now.

Ive read a few other forums where people were having a similar problem so maybe it will be worked out later.

thanks for you inputs.

Turn off IPv6 and see if that helps.

Since WEP is so outdated and full of holes, try upgrading your deivce to WPA and see what happens.
