RE: INFCache.1 file

Hey all,

I have difficulty in installing devices especially USB devices.  By right any USB Memory device should install without searching for drivers, likewise with the External Hard Drives. I have researched this on the Internet including Dell forums. My understanding is that it should work after you delete the above named file, however with mine, that won't work. I have tried it all. Everything. I plan on reinstalling my Dell Laptop. Currently my wireless network card is not working. Coming up with the Limited Connectivity same goes for the Ethernet. Eitherway. I would prefer if I could get the INFCache.1 file working again, as I can then backup onto my External hard drives.

Much appreciated.

Have a look at this article. There is a Vista update available and if that doesn't rectify the problem, there is also a hotfix available by contacting Microsoft.
