re-installing ME

hey, i recently reinstalled ME on a friends Dell Dimension L800CXE Desktop and it got allllll messed up. It installed all the system files then rebooted like normal but cant finish installing the drivers and stuff, it jus sits at the ME boot screen forever and if u hit ESC to see whats goin on it jus keeps sayin

"Windows could not upgrade the file %1 from %2

%1:  %2"

I can't boot the setup from the CD, I can't even open the CD-ROM manually. I need some help to unscrew up my friends computer if anyone can help please reply to this lol, Peace

Sounds like it's time to start over. Follow the instructions here:

http://support.dell.com/SoftwareReinstallGuide/Results.aspx?CatID=0&OSID=44&SysID=DIM_PNT_CEL_L___CXE&_ctl72.x=20&_ctl72.y=11

You must set up the computer to boot from the CD-ROM. If you don't know how or are unable to do this, please post back.

I can't get the boot CD out of the CD-rom and when i boot from CD it dosent do anything different because its in the middle of re-installing Windows. It tries to boot Windows to finish installation of drivers ect. I'm going to try taking the tower apart and manually extracting the CD then re-insert the CD and do it all over again.
