Re-installing windows xp through BIOS

Hello guys..  I need help re-installing windows xp through BIOS mode... I want to completely           re-format my drive.  I have tried doing it the normal way of just inserting the  disk in the drive and loading it up... but it tells me that the current version that I have installed is newer than the one that I am trying to re-install.. so it doesnt let me do it.... My option is going through the BIOS which will allow me to re-install windows xp..... I did this earlier this year but I have forgotten which keys to press on the start up screen... I need the blue screen to come up saying windows setup... Once I get there I know what I need to do...  I friend of mine told what to press( something like ctrl+alt+esp and one of the F keys...)  but I have totally forgotten.... Please help guys..

Press F12 to get a boot selection menu and then select the CD/DVD device where you have insterted the XP OS CD.

Within a couple of seconds, you will be prompted to press a key to continue booting from the CD.

You may also have a System Restore partition on your machine. In that case, simply press CTRL F11 to start it.
