Recovery CD & Partition Size
Hi
I just bought a Dell desktop PC for the first time, and would appreciate fellow members' input on how to accomplish the following.
The hard disk partition containing Windows is 20GB in size. Would I be able to change the partition size to 10GB and reinstall Windows using the recovery CD which came with the computer? I know how to do this with the retail version of Windows, but am not sure if the Dell recovery CD can be used in a similar fashion.
Further, if I resize the partition to 10GB using Partition Magic, can the recovery CD still be used to reinstall Windows? I found out that, in similar change-of-partition-size circumstances, my (non-Dell) notebook's recovery CD could no longer be used to reinstall Windows.
Any feedback would be most welcome.
Thanks!
