Reinstall and usb keyboard

I am getting ready to reinstall windows xp media from the dell disc. I have both the windows and their resource cd. I have read in these forums where there might be an issue with not being able to use the usb keyboard. Or that there is only one usb port active during reinstall. And enabling the Legacy usb support in BIOS. How do I check this?

some have said to use a ps2 keyboard.......I'm assuming that is the old style of keyboards, which I have......but where do you plug in it at as I dont have that type of connection.

I have a Dimension E310 , Windows XP Media.

Am I anticipating issues? I have reinstalled XP on a laptop and it worked fine. Step by step with Paul Turrott's Supersite.

Oh one last thing, I'm assuming the Dell Resource CD has my chip set on it along with the drivers?

thank you

"enabling the Legacy usb support in BIOS. How do I check this"

Not necessary on that model.

Connect your keyboard and mouse in thew ports next to the LAN port, you should be good to go.

Use Options/Edit to remove your service tag number, it is a violation of the forums TOS to post that.

thank you for the usb info.
Do you know if the chipset is on the resource cd or do I need to go and find it?

After you get to the desktop, pop in the Resource CD, it will auto run, follow the prompts to install your drivers.
