reinstall system but cd drive is broken

Question

I need to reinstall windows xp but my cd drive is broken, is there a way I can transfer the files on the cd to a flash drive and then run the reinstallation, or can I download the windows xp rental files somewhere then run them using an external drive or flash drive?
