Reinstall XP on Dell

Question

I have two Dell Dimension. I misplaced the OS disc for one of them. That PC got so much junk in it. I am thinking of a clean reinstall (reformatting the HD and then reinstall the OS). Can I use the OS disc for the other PC? If I can't do that, what can I do without paying for extra copy of the OS? Thanks.

Yes, you can use the disk provided it is the same version of XP that the computer came with.   I let my nephew borrow my XP reinstall disk because he couldn't find his. We both have Windows XP Home, the disk was the exact same whether he used mine or if he found his...  Both were XP Home..

Problems solved. I successfully reinstalled the OS. Now the PC is void of all the junk, and running very happily.
