Reinstalling Roxio Creator & MyDVD 9.0DE

I need help.

I recently bought a Dell computer with Roxio Creator & MyDVD 9.0 DE installed on it. I used the DVD bit a few times to create DVDs of photos and then it started giving me errors about a buffer overflow.
I checked the Roxio website and it seemed that I needed to reinstall it. I removed it using Add/Remove Programs and reinstalled it and the DVD part wasnt there !!!

I thought it was my installation so, following instrucions from the Roxio forum about removing it using Microsoft Install Clean Up, I removed the exisiting software and reinstalled it again - still the same problem.

I contacted the Roxio Forum and they suggested that you guys might know something about it as it is most likely a Dell Custom Edition version of Roxio.

Any ideas how to get the only part I actually use, back ???????????

When you reinstall, are you using the software CD for that program that Dell sent you?  Maybe that would fix the problem.  If you didn't get the CDs (with all the software installed on your computer, including the OS), then you can request a free one time only set of discs from Dell. There is a form for requesting this at Dell.com in Support page if you live in the US, if not, call Dell technical support and ask them to send them to you.

Thanks for replying

Yes, unfortunately I am already using the CDs that came with the PC, and I've tried a typical, Custom and Complete installation and none of them seems to work.

I'm now beginning to wonder if they sent me the correct CD (ie) the same version of software that was used during the initial installation !!!!!

Hello,
That could be a possibility.  In the past, I have received the wrong version of my software.  Double check your packing slip, and call Dell to check with them what your system came with when it was originally shipped.  Then check that against your CD.  Good luck.
