Reinstalling XP, BSOD 07B during setup

My XPS600 was originally delivered with XP Home (Eng). When trying to install XP Pro -SP2 (Swe) the installation couldn´t find any hdd´s. So I downloaded the nVidia MediaShield Driver and slipstreamed it onto the CD, but when the setup is done and it´s time for the first boot I get a BSOD x07B.

If I use the XP Home that came with the XPS everything works just fine, but I´d like to install a Swedish Professional instead. I´ve also copied the driver files from the Home CD and also parts of the TXTSETUP.SIF from the Home CD, but it still gives me BSOD.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

What is happening is the Swedish version does not have the SATA drivers on the disc as does the English verison does.  Etiher get a USB floppy drive and load them to the floppy and hit the F6 prompt at the beginning of the install or turn off the SATA features of the drive.

Yes, I´m aware my Swedish CD doesn´t have the nvatabus drivers. That´s why I´ve made a new CD and integrated the drivers. Install finds the hdd, the filecopy and default settings proceed as it should. The problem comes after second reboot and before the welcome screen where you set usernames.

The only settings in BIOS for the drives are [Off] [On] [RAID]. The BIOS version is A11.

Given that information, I would create an iso image of the Swedish version and also the version that came with the machine. Inside the iso image you create from the English version will be all the drivers you need.

Make a copy of that folder and the setup file, import it inot the Swedish iso image and then burn that copy to a disc. Either that or turn off the RAID.

There´s only one hdd installed, so the RAID is not enabled. I´ve just borrowed a fdd from a friend, will be interesting to see if that works or I still get the BSOD...

Dell's BIOS default setting is RAID, even if you don't have a RAID setup. As was suggested, go into BIOS setup and change the hard drive settings from RAID to RAID AUTODETECT/ATA. Save the change and exit setup.

I used to work as a Dell Service Provider for 5 years (after that I worked for Fujitsu-Siemens Computers for 1 1/2 years) and as I stated earlier there are only three settings for the disks (Off, On or RAID), there are no AUTO/ATA setting.

I don´t know what whent wrong with the slipstreamed XP´s, but it worked flawless with F6 and floppy. I´ve tripplechecked all the settings and parameters for the TXTSETUP.SIF, but it must be something I entered wrong.

Thanks for the thaughts though. I guess I´m making a bootable Ghostimage now when I´ve got a fresh install :)
