Reinstalling XP / Formatting disk.

Ok, i have a problem.
My laptop was packed and running slow, so I wanted to reinstall Windows XP. My disk has two partitions. I formatted D: and then tried to reinstall XP on my C:
This didn't work as I thought. And so now I want to format my c: or get my laptop back to the state when I just bought it.
Can someone help me, I don't know how to get it back to the factory status.

Thankyou.

Hello :smileyhappy:

If you have an actual XP installation CD and not just a Recovery Disk, here are very good tutorials with screenshots to help you.  The format is done by XP during the reinstall.

If you still have the Dell System Restore partition, go here for help.
