Remote Desktop Connection

I have an issue with RDC.  I have contacted my ISP administrator and they have pointed my public IP address to my private IP address.  My User Name is set up with a password and I am also the administrator.  When someone tries to connect to my desktop, it looks as though the router is sending them to my PC, but my PC is not sending a response so they do not get a login promt.  I feel certain that this is a setup issue on my part with the RDC setup.  Can anyone help me that may be familiar with the setup!?!

YOu have to do a couple of things. Enable Remote Desktop for one, place the desired user account in the Remote Desktop user Group, and check the Local security Polciy to allow Logon thru Terminal Services and also checl to make sure Deny is not being appliced.

I'm sorry, the way I worded that does seem to make you think that I do want strangers on there.  I don't.  What I am trying to do is make it so that I can work on my laptop at home.  I want it to connect via Remote Desktop.  My ISP administrator has tried to connect to my desktop in the office via RDC and he said that he got all the way up to the point that my computer would send the logon page, but it was like my computer wouldn't respond.  He seemed to think that I had missed something in the setup of Remote Desktop on my computer in the office.  My computer is running XP Professional.  I am trying to figure out if there is some obvious mistake that I have made in the setup.  And yes, I have installed all of the Windows Updates.  Those are completely current on my machine.  By the way, thanks for the reply.  I hope that maybe you will know how to fix this.  Thanks
