Some programs have an uninstall - go to all programs and go to your fax program, sometimes you can from there.  If not go to my computer and click on the add and remove programs at the left.  It should be in there.

If I understand correctly you want to turn off the XP Fax because it answers the call before your fax software has a chance?

I had the XP Pro Fax monitor entered in and working and found it wanting to answer all my land line calls. To turn it off I went through Programs>Assessories>Comm.>Fax>Fax console. Then in the Console window click on TOOLS and drop down to CONFIGURE FAX. I went through all the "frames" making sure to remove all the entries that I'd made when I set up XP originally.

Hope I understood your trouble and helped you out.

My problem is that my fax program is corrupt. I want to remove the program from my computer and reinstall the

CD V.9x(Capable) 56K Data/Fax Modem software fopr Microsoft Windows.

There is something in my program that when I click "Send" and the monotor Fax box comes uo the only box to check is "Answere Now" and then the fax shows sending and after 50 seconds a "error in receving message comes up" and my fax never goes thru.

OK,  I couldn't find a way to uninstall, but maybe you could try sfc /scannow to repair any corrupted files.
