Removing Dell theme created for every new user.
I am working on creating a new image for a line of our company machines (Optiplex 790's). Every machine has a user account that's setup after the OOBE and locked down with GPO settings.
Everything is setup but for some reason the theme defaults to Dell's Installed Theme and bypasses the theme setup in the unattended files as well as my GPO settings. One of our programs requires specific colors for the "3D Objects" and "Selected Items" so getting the correct theme is very important.
Any thoughts on how to fix this? I've combed through the setup files and haven't found anything that could create this theme but every time a new user is created this theme suddenly appears.
Also, I tried removing all the security policies but that didn't work either.
Thanks for your help,
John

Technically, I don't believe OEM was ever intended to be used for mass deployment. Don't you have access to VL media/keys? Then you wouldn't have to worry about it. I found a way to disable the Dell themes last year, allowing a new user's theme to be set via GPO, but I can't remember which of the dozen or so locations actually did it ... I'll keep poking around.

Unfortunately I didn't create the initial image or I would have started on a clean slate. In any case it would be quite a bit of work to backtrack that far and I think deleting the Dell Theme would be easier... If I can find it!

From what I have been reading Windows 7 64-bit has had a lot of problems with the personalization items transferring in the CopyProfile option. But if I can delete the theme I am hoping to bypass this issue.
