Do you receive an error message when you attempt to remove it?  If so, what does it say?

What type of program is it?  Certain types of Spyware set themselves up so that you cannot remove it through Add/Remove Programs, but can do so only by editing the registry and then removing it.  If it might be Spyware or something similar, get Spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) or anyone of a number of Spyware detectors and removers.  AdAware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) and Pest Patrol (http://www.pestpatrol.com/) are also useful in this regard (Pest Patrol will do a free scan of your machine from its site).

It's Yahoo Messenger Explorer bar, which shows up different from Yahoo Messenger.

I don't get any error messages when I click on the add/remove button.  It just doesn't go away.  The messenger icon on the explorer bar is gone and nonfunctional.

I've removed and reinstalled Messenger, but to no avail.

I have some spyware, but I don't think it is involved.

I didn't upload the companion toolbar.  The program that won't delete is Yahoo Messenger Explorer bar.  It isn't showing up on the explorer bar, so i want to delete it and try to download it again with Messenger.
