Repair or Reinstall Windows Explorer???
Windows Explorer has been generating errors that are requiring it to auto shutdown and then be restarted after clicking around folders with it for a bit. It has reached the point of being VERY annoying.
Is there a way to repair or reinstall it without actually having to do a complete reinstall of WinXP? I do have the installation/setup disc.

Can you give the exact error message you are getting concerning Windows Explorer. You could run the System File Checker. Go to Start>Run> and type in sfc /scannow. Note there is a space after the first c and the /. Have your Operating System disc handy in case you get ASKED FOR IT. If this does help, then post back with your computer type, the complete error message(s), and what you are doing when the problem occurs. You may also want to look at the following link.

I have no idea why this posted multiple times!

Thank you both. I have tried to run sfc in WinXP before in the same way it runs in Win98se. Couldn't get more than a flash of a command screen. I've finally got the propper syntax to make it run it. I did run it. It recoppied the contents of the dll cache from the s/u disc. Windows Explorer runs much quicker now. I assume the problem is now fixed.
There was no notification of files found in error with a choice of handling them as is done in Win98se while it was running. Is this normal for WinXP's sfc?
