Resource cd cannot recognize system as a dell after windows reinstall

Question

I have a dimension e510 with media center 05. I ordered all the disks with system when new. I reinstalled windows mce 2005. Attempted to install drivers from resource cd. I get an error that says it cannot recognize the system as a dell Also is asking me to activate. Networking components not recognized with window install so i cant download drivers either. HELP PLEASE

You will just have to use another PC and download the drivers you need, and burn them to CD or copy to a flash drive. No.   Not sure what went wrong.

The first thing to be installed, after Windows is the 'chipset drivers'.  If you didn't do that, it may be the problem.  If you try to install device drivers without the chipset drivers they won't find the hardware.

I've never ran into a situation like this before...  I'd be interested to know the final resolve to learn what happened ...   Once you're all up & runnun', could you please let us know the final outcome ?   Thanks....  Good luck....

Solution found. The raid config was messing with the windows install. I had to format both disks via another system. (probly could have done it another way) Then reinstalled window and poof it worked. Recognizing the resource disk and all. Thanks for the suggestions forumites.
