Restore to Win 7 Factory Settings?
Hi,
I recently upgraded my windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 8 Developer Preview. Instead of making a fresh install i upgraded the existing Windows 7 Version.
Since some softwares are not working i need Win 7 back in another drive. While Win 8 installation it has deleted the factory image recover and am not able to proceed with factory image recovery by presseing f8 while booting.
Now i downloaded a same version of Win 7 Home Premium from net and installed in another drive, but the product key is not accpeting. Both are of same version only. In the newly installed win 7 i tried to install Dell Datasafe back 2.0 and tried to restore to factory image but that is also no possible.
Now is there any way to restore my system to factory settings?

kryptobium,
When you first started Windows 7, did you make the Windows 7 - IMPORTANT Windows 7 Backup Disks to create?

kryptobium,
I had a system fail, bad processor. The technician unchecked a box and my computer went useless. I inserted Dell DataSafe, disk 1 and restart the computer, then followed the instructions. It installed everything like it was from factory.
Restoring Your Dell Computer to Original Factory Installation with Dell DataSafe Local Backup 2.0
If that fails, then you'll need to request a backup set of disks from Dell. If in the United States, Request Backup Disks USA If in another Country, contact Dell Tech Support in your Country.
Dell OEM Operating system disk, will install the operating system without asking for a product key. It reads the information off the motherboard.

Best to perform a clean install of 7, likely you will get better performance this way.
Follow my guide below, it will tell you exactly where to obtain all you need and what order to install things in.
