See if this helps you, it's Number 57, the one on the right "Restore Run Command" this site is used and virus free, I use it daily for years. Click on "Restore Run Command" Save, Locate where you saved it and double click on it, answer the pop up prompt. Good Luck! Mick

Dear Eddj:
Love your little cartoon How do you do that? I have already tried those same instructions you sent, run is checked but does not appear after Search in the start menu...any more bright ideas. Like your cartoon. God Bless.

From the Start button, right-click and select File Finder... Then type in CMD.EXE. When it finds it in C:\windows\system32, open it from there and you'll get the cmd box, but this won't get you msconfig! To open msconfig use the same instructions as above (Start button, right-click and select File Finder... Then type in MSCONFIG.EXE). Open the one in C:\windows\ Software distribution........... And msconfig should open.

I'm beginning to suspect something nepharious. Have you got all your virus definitions up to date? Checked for spyware and trojans?
Did the Windows-R thing work?

Sounds like a virus or trojan. Do you have antivirus software and are you keeping it up to date?
