I am desperate for help ! If I don't get help here .... I am throwing my computer out the front door ! I have had it ! Everytime I turn on my computer I get the following 2 error messages.
Rundll has caused an error in MMSYSTEM.DLL. Rundll will now close.
and ----

It would be quite helpful to know which version of Windows you are running. See of the following helps:

To get to the System.ini file, go to Start > Run and type msconfig then click on OK. Click on the System.ini tab and look to see if the line "drivers=mmsystem.dll" is listed. If it isn't, then add it by selecting "boot" at the top of the listing anc clicking on the Add button. Save your changes, and reboot.

It sounds like you need to reinstall the drivers for your video card. Do you know the make and model of the video card in your system? What model computer do you have?

If you don't know the model of your computer, then your service tag number will help.

You need to create an account on the Dell Support page. To do this, click on the Home tab at the top of the forum Window, then create an account using your service tag. In the left-hand pane, there will be a link to "Original Configuration". Use this link to see if you can figure out which video card was installed in your system. Then click on the Downloads tab, select Video Drivers as the download category, and select your version of Windows as the operating system. Then click on Go and download and install the drivers for your video card.

cnbabe.dll is part of the Common Name Toolbar spyware/parasite program. Get Spybot and Ad-Aware, install these programs, update them before running them, and allow them to get rid of all of the crud that they find. Links to these programs can be found in the ChrisRLG's message at the top of the Virus Information and Removal forum:
