Running search function off start button, and SP2

Question

In running 'search' off the 'start button' - ( ie right click 'start' button,  then click on 'search' from the context menu),  the search window will open,  but it always returns 0 results (eg search 'txt' or 'exe' files). Everything works fine if I run 'search' of the start menu (ie left click on search button, and then go to 'search'). Dell tech thinks this may be related to SP2;  and has advised me if it really annoys me to uninstall SP2 and see if it works. There is a fix suggested on the internet - start/run and type in:  regsvr32 /i shell32 - this repairs the search function, but only temporarily - upon rebooting - search function off the start button stops working again. Could you guys with SP2 check if you can run 'search' off the start button (ie upon right clicking the start button)?

Your answers that the search function for most of you works normally made me look more closely! (I really thought like Dell Solution Center, everyone would say that since SP2, search doesn't work off the start button).

The "solution" is actually quite simple - solution in "quotations" as there isn't really a problem to start off with!

Just figured out the search windows resulting from RIGHT and LEFT clicking the start button are slightly different.
-selecting the search window off the the start button (ie by Right clicking), the default search area is "start menu" only (at least for me).

You need to scroll down, to see a menu with a drop-down list.

And if I choose my hard drives to search from in the drop down list, a complete search is done.

(I am surprised I couldn't find this "solution" in my google searches).

Have SP2 and my search using the right click works.
