Runtime Error
I'm getting this error when I switch XP users and open IE:
microsoft visual c++ runtime library runtime error iexplore.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
I read on other newsgroups to uninstall the Google/Yahoo! toolbars, I uninstalled both, but I'm still getting the error.
One thing I've noticed is when I close IE before I switch XP users, I wont get the error. If I leave IE open on one user & switch to the other, then I open IE on the other user, I will get the error.
Thanks.

Just to make sure your problem is the same as the original one, do you get that error message when opening IE after changing users while the original user has IE open? That is jlsohio's problem. As mentioned in the original post, if the error simply appears when running IE the usual fix to the problem is to simply uninstall the Google toolbar.

Hello all,
I am having the same exact problem. Only when switching to another user havent while internet explorer is already open. I dont have the google toolbar installed. Any suggestions? Dell assisted me in removing everything off of my system but a few days later it came back. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I tried you solution of "unchecking the 3rd party browser". It worked. My question is, why was this box checked in the first place? In other words, what will I not be able to do now?
Thank you.

That's a good question. As far as I can tell, nothing critical to proper functioning of IE. In my case, all I saw was that the Google toolbar disappeared. It re-appeared of course when I re-checked that entry. Now I was not getting that Runtime error, but I would be interested to know if that error re-appears if you re-enable third party browser extensions. (You will have to restart IE after doing this.)
