Runtime Error???!?!?!

I have lost count of how many times I have seen that error message cube. I've never seen it until I started using this computer. It did it before and after all the MicroSoft updates.  It goes something like this:

A runtime error has been encountered
Do you wish to debug now?

YES                                          NO

I don't know what a runtime error is.  I know sometimes it makes it hard to close a page, or open a page for that matter.  Is my system missing some key bit of information?  Is my connection, although the Hewlett Packard never did this?  It's just an annoyance really, but one I would like to fix. Has anyone seen this?  Or better yet, fixed it?

I said "tick the boxes"  but this may not help, reread your post,   you have runtime error, different..

Go back and tick those boxes or you will get script errors poping up.

I will get back to you on the runtime error..

Are you using IE6 or IE7?

Open IE and go to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced Tab and tick the boxes "disable script debugging...." and then OK, close all instances or IE and reopen the program for changes to take effect.

IE6 should look like this, 7 will have one more Disable box that should be Ticked. Hit OK when done, reboot IE.

Advanced tab

Thanks for the quick response! I went through all the screens as instructed, there was a checkmark in the box already, I clicked it off, hit apply and closed everything. Was that all correct?  I'll do a little surfing and see how it works.

Thanks for everything,
Elk.

Sorry, I should have provided that information.  I am running IE7.  I ticked the following:

Disable Script Debugging (Internet explorer)
Disable Script Debugging (other)

I left display a notification about every script error unticked.

I closed IE and then reopened for changes to take effect. Are any other steps to take?

Thanks again.
Elk.
